Nominations are open

Nominations are open for the Australia Day Awards and the Rural City of Wangaratta is calling on locals to take part.

We’ve been through quite a year. It’s time to celebrate and reflect on who is active in our community and who we admire.

Now is the time to take the opportunity to show your respect and acknowledge those in our community who deserve some recognition.

Nominations are open for awards in the following categories:

-Citizen of the Year,

-Young citizen of the Year,

- Community Event or Project of the of the Year

Recipients will be presented with their awards at the 2021 Australia Day celebrations held across the municipality. Nominations close on Friday 6th of November 2020.

In addition to receiving an award on Australia Day the Citizen of the Year is invited to be part of the Marmungan Rock Ceremony during Reconciliation Week in 2021, hosted by the Dirrawarra Indigenous Network.

The nomination process is now easier than ever, forms and eligibility information can be found at or from Customer Service at Wangaratta Government Centre, Wangaratta Library or the Wangaratta Visitor Information Centre.
