Beechworth players wait review of release program
The prisoner release program is being reviewed in Victoria, and it could be costly for the Beechworth Football Club.
The State Government is looking into the prisoner release program to play football, with hopes that the review will be completed sooner rather than later.
The Border Mail reports that as many as six Beechworth players could be affected, if the review is not completed today.
The report says the Club hopes to have the issue clarified before the Tallangatta League game on Saturday August 11.
The review of the program follows news that one punch killer Dylan Closter was let out to play near Shepparton.
