Wodonga based Senator, Bridget McKenzie has resigned from Federal Cabinet, after criticism of her funding allocations while Sports Minister.

Senator McKenzie is alleged to have favoured sporting clubs in marginal or Coalition seats, rather than making allocations on merit.

She failed to disclose her membership of the Wangaratta Rifle Club that received almost $36,000 from a controversial sports grants program she oversaw.
