It is believed the woman was cycling along Isaacs Avenue just after 7.30am, when she fell into the path of an oncoming truck.

The Major Collisions Investigation Unit is working with the understanding that the heavy vehicle attempted to pass her. The truck was carrying a single power pole.

The woman was flown to a Melbourne hospital after sustaining upper- and lower-body injuries. The driver, a 63-year-old man, is assisting police with their inquires.

The accident comes after two separate fatal car accidents over the weekend.

In the first, a woman in her 70s was killed when her car left the road in Yabba North and hit a tree, at about 1pm.

The second incident happened in Benalla at about 3.30pm when a car also hit a tree, killing the driver and only occupant of the car, a man in his 70s.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
