Grunt receives great news

He's the local icon that has divided the town, with thousands locally and across the nation pleading for Grunt to be allowed back on the streets of Wangaratta.

There's been no official letter in writing just yet from government, although Matt Evans, the owner of Grunt the Pig, has said after many talks with council it's looking like Grunt will soon enough be allowed back on the streets.

There will still be restrictions on where he can be walked, he must be outside of CBD areas, and only on certain pathways such as walking between the owner's house to the Girl Guides Hall.

Mr Evans is happy with the result and eagerly waiting for a formal letter that will outline the permissions and areas for grunt.

He further confirmed that until the formal letter Grunt has to remain at home and is getting a bit "restless" after not being able to go for his daily walk.

Hopefully we see Grunt sooner rather than later!
