It usually takes place in the beautiful town of Myrtleford which is especially known for its Italian culture and heritage.
The event normally attracts 3000 people to the region, with visitors travelling from all over to get a taste of the festival.
Despite it being postponed until next year, those passionate about Italy are being asked to celebrate it at home by cooking their own cuisines and listening to Italian music.
In a statement the festival said:
"With a heavy heart we bring you the announcement of La Fiera 2020 cancellation.
It has been challenging times for everyone and we sympathise with the many people impacted by our decision, due to circumstances beyond our control.
We would like to reassure people that the safety of our community, volunteers and visitors has been our priority.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and support. La Fiera will be back 2021, bigger and better and look forward to seeing everyone.
Please take care of yourself and take care of each other".
Planning is in the works to help revive the area and bring the La Fiera Festival back into the community.
