Premier Dan says you cannot wear a face shield, scarf or bandana.

Face coverings will remain compulsory in the North East until at least December.

The Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews announced that fitted masks that cover the nose and mouth will remain in place for the foreseeable future.

In regional Victoria– where there’s been no new cases – you can still be fined for incorrect face wear, but now you cannot wear a face shield, scarf or bandana.

People in the North East will be given 2 weeks of reprieve to adjust to the new norm - until a fine of up to $200 can be issued.

When leaving home, only properly fitting face masks that cover the nose and mouth are allowed.

Meanwhile, North East hospitals are preparing to increase to 85 percent of their usual elective surgeries with that change in the regions beginning today.

Meat and poultry processors can increase workforce numbers as they return to 90 percent of capacity.

Currently regional Victoria has 9 active cases.
