It comes as no surprise that our Summer was a hot one and the Bureau Of Meteorology has released the latest figures on the season summarising that Victoria's mean temperature was 2.54 °C warmer than the long-term summer average, making it the warmest summer on record.

The highest temperature was 47.6 °C, recorded at Kerang on the 25th of January.

Rutherglen and Dartmouth had their warmest summer night on record at 29.3 °C on the 25th and 26th January, safe to say I bet nobody got much sleep that night!

Strong winds, heavy rain, and severe thunderstorms affected us on the 13 and 14 December. We recieved a month's worth of rain over northeastern Victoria, resulting in flash flooding. Local businesses and homeowners are still paying the price from the damage that occurred.

Wangaratta’s record for the highest summer mean daily max temperature was 33.2 degrees overtaking the last record in 2002 of 32.6 degrees. Yarrawonga followed breaking the record from 33.1 degrees in 2013 to 24 degrees during summer 2018-19.

Guess it’s time to put away the Zooper Doopers for another year and start preparing our winter wardrobe and firewood!
